Cooking time: 20 minutes
Total time: 45 minutes
Ingredients:
3,5 ounces (100 g) flour
1 ounce (30 g) cornflour
2.5 ounces (70 g) white sugar
0,3 ounces (8g) vanilla baking powder
1/2 powder vanillin
2 ounces (60 g) butter
1 whole egg
Sultanas
Corn flakes
I preheat oven to 350 °F (180 °C).
I whisk the egg with the sugar.
I add melted butter (I put it in a transparent container and I use the microwave oven sets on the lowest program, when it starts to melt I stop it) and I continue to whisk till the cream becomes homogeneous.
I add the powder vanillin.
I add sifted flour and vanilla baking powder, whisking till is possible,
then I start using a wooden spoon.
The mixture should be soft, but you must be able to handle it.
So now, with a spoon I take a piece of the mixture and roll it into a ball.
I roll the ball into the Corn Flakes, making sure they are well coated and I repeat this until all the mixture has been used.
The above ingredients will supply you with about 30 biscuits.
I put the biscuits on a baking paper, leaving room for each biscuit to spread a little (1 in. , 3 cm), I squeeze them a little bit.
I put them in the oven for 20 minutes on the middle shelf until the biscuits are golden-brown.
They will be a little soft when you remove them from the oven but they will harden as they cool.
I've done a video... hope it can be useful, clear and not too boring!
Let me know what do you think... if there is something wrong or something that you didn't like (too long? too fast? too slow?...), so I can do better in the next one!!!
(In the first part of the video I've placed the camera on the vertical tilt, I didn't imagine that the video would be so tight. Sorry.)
